Multiple people have been confirmed d£ad after reports of a mass shooting in the Prospect Hill are of North Carolina.
Caswell County Sheriff’s Office confirmed their have been “multiple fatalities” with one other person rushed to hospital. All the activity appears to be around a single property on Brooks Road.
Local authorities were called to reports of a mass shooting at around 8:30am local time this morning (August 5).
Caswell County Sheriff’s Office, North Carolina State Highway Patrol and State Bureau of Investigation have all been on the scene.
No information on the victims or how many have been k!lled has been released by the local authorities. However, they have confirmed that there is no further threat to members of the public.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) has also been called in to assist local deputies at the active crime scene.
The SBI later commented that the event was “contained” to the address where it happened.

In an interview on WFMY News 2, Caswell County Sheriff Tony Durden said: “As you know, there’s multiple fatalities, and we have one in the hospital, and that’s pretty much all I can tell you. Everything else is under investigation at this current time.
“At this point, no suspects are out there. The community is safe.”

In a statement on their Facebook page, the SBI said: “The Caswell County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for service just before 8 a.m. today at 352 Brooks Road in Prospect Hill, NC.
“Deputies arriving on scene found multiple people who had been shot. One person was transported to Duke University Hospital with a gunshot wound, and there are multiple other fatalities. Caswell County Sheriff Tony Durden immediately requested the assistance of the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI).
“SBI Crime scene investigators are on scene processing evidence and conducting interviews. There is NO THREAT to the general public, and the event is contained to the above address.
The Caswell County Sheriff’s Office is the lead agency on this case. They are assisted by the SBI, the NC State Highway Patrol, the Prospect Hill Fire Department, Caswell County EMS, Caswell County Emergency Management, Caswell County 911, and the Person County Sheriff’s Office.”
