Harrogate residents are reportedly buying the largest adult toys in the UK, according to Lovehoney’s 2026 S3x Map, with the North Yorkshire spa town recording an average purchase size of 7.35 inches.

Harrogate, known for its gardens and historic Turkish Baths, has risen to the top of Lovehoney’s annual ranking after failing to make the top five last year. The average adult toy purchased in the town measures 7.35 inches, narrowly surpassing last year’s winner, Hereford, where the average was 7.13 inches.

Blackpool ranked second with an average of 7.33 inches, followed by Huddersfield at 7.32 inches. Preston came fourth at 7.29 inches, while Coventry completed the top five at 7.27 inches. The average adult toy purchased across the UK in 2026 measures 7.07 inches, up from 6.84 inches the previous year. None of last year’s top five; Hereford, Jersey, Inverness, Twickenham and Hemel Hempstead, made this year’s list.

At the other end of the rankings, Llandrindod Wells in Powys recorded the smallest average purchases among the locations surveyed, at 6.64 inches. West London followed at 6.68 inches, while the Isle of Man recorded 6.77 inches. Paisley ranked fourth at 6.80 inches, with East London fifth at 6.81 inches.

The Lovehoney data also identified locations where residents purchased the most adult toys overall. Waltham Cross in Hertfordshire topped the list in England, while Alloa took the top spot in Scotland. Enniskillen ranked first in Northern Ireland.

In Wales, the Clwyd region recorded particularly high demand, with Mold leading the country, followed by Abergele, Rhyl and Wrexham. The figures are based on Lovehoney’s 2026 Sex Map, which tracks purchasing trends for adult products across different UK locations.
