?It is criminal? - Lagos deputy gov vows to remove car spotters from streets

The Lagos State government has vowed to intensify enforcement against car spotters harassing motorists and stopping luxury vehicles along the Lekki Epe Expressway, describing their actions as strictly criminal.

Speaking in a broadcast on Nigeria Info FM, Hamzat said the state government will take a decisive action to clear the major transit corridor of unauthorized individuals targeting high-end cars and compromising public safety.

“That is criminal, and therefore, we will not allow it. So, we will take a lot of them off the street. A lot of people have been arrested, really. A lot of cameras are also on that road and people have been seen… some people are in the Magistrate Court today.”

The deputy governor further revealed that security agencies have leveraged the state’s network of surveillance cameras along the Lekki-Epe route to track down suspects, noting that multiple arrests were made over the weekend as legal proceedings get underway.
