The Ogun State Waste Management Authority (OGWAMA), in collaboration with Environmental Health Officers (EHO) of Sagamu Local Government, has apprehended a woman seen in a viral video dumping refuse into a drainage channel in Sagamu.
The woman was seen carrying a yellow sack filled with refuse before emptying its contents into the drainage while rain was falling.
Confirming her arrest in a post on X on Tuesday, OGWAMA said the woman was apprehended following the circulation of the video.
The agency stated: “The Ogun State Waste Management Authority (OGWAMA), in collaboration with the Environmental Health Officers (EHO) of Sagamu Local Government, has apprehended the lady captured in a viral video dumping waste into a drainage channel in Sagamu last Friday.”
OGWAMA urged residents to desist from indiscriminate waste disposal and patronise waste collection operators accredited by the agency.
It added: “A cleaner Ogun State is a shared responsibility.”
