Gunmen have k!lled a History professor at the Moses Orshio Adasu University, Makurdi, (MOAUM), Gabriel Nyityo.

Prof. Nyityo was reportedly m8rdered at his Makurdi residence in the early hours of Wednesday, July 8, 2026. 

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear as officials have yet to release an official statement.

Initial reports indicate that the assailants attacked the professor while he was asleep.

However, details surrounding the incident and motive behind the attack remain unknown.

The Benue State Police Command and the university management are yet to issue an official statement.
