An 87-year-old woman, identified as Mrs Kande Bulus, has been found d3ad along a stream in the Wildlife Park Forest Reserve in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The incident was reported at about 0930 hours on September 16, 2026, after troops of Sector 3, Operation ENDURING PEACE (OPEP), responded to a report of the discovery.

According to security sources, preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased had left her family residence in Dong Kassa, Jos North LGA, and proceeded to the Wildlife Park Forest Reserve but did not return home.

Concerned family members subsequently launched a search for her and discovered her body near a stream within the forest reserve.

The body was reportedly found with injuries consistent with machete cuts on her arm and face.

Security authorities have commenced further investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding her d3ath and determine whether any criminal elements were involved.

Efforts are ongoing to gather additional information that could assist investigators in establishing the events leading to the incident.
