The village head of Aujarawar Alkali in Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State, Alhaji Ahmad Yakubu Ahmad, has been k!lled by his abductors.

Ahmad was abducted on Tuesday, September 17, 2026, when gunmen stormed the community in the night.

His body was reportedly recovered after his abductors k!lled him.

Funeral prayers were conducted at 3pm on Wednesday, September 30, after which he was buried. 

Musa Garba, a resident of Gezawa, confirmed the development to Daily Trust in a telephone interview.

According to him, the assailants tortured the village head to d3ath by cutting off one of his legs and tying his hands.

Garba said that the abductors later buried the remains of the village head in a shallow grave in a village called Danladin Gezawa.

“I attended the funeral prayers today (Wednesday) at around 3pm. The assailants tortured the village head to death by cutting off one of his legs and tying his hand behind him. He was brutalized until he d!ed,” he said. 

“After his d3ath, the abductors buried his remains in a shallow grave in a village called Danladin Gezawa. Four days later, some village discovered the grave and raised the alarm.

“The remains were identified by the deceased’s wife. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead and later buried by the hospital officials because the remains were already decomposing.”

Police are yet to issue a formal statement regarding the incident.
