Operatives of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, So-Safe, Corps has arrested a 34-year-old man for allegedly breaking into a residence at Onimalu Community, Ilogbo.
The suspect reportedly broke into the house of one Mrs Omolara Oluwakemi at Onimalu Cooperative CDA, along Ilogbo Road, Ogun State, on September 3, 2026 at about 3a.m.
The suspect was said that have removed all household appliances of the victim after which he used a pair of scissors to chase the victim in an attempt to r@pe her.
He was arrested following an alert received by the operatives from the Chairman of the CDA Mr. Tajudeen Adedeji, that a woman was heard in the community shouting for help.
The Corps’ State Commander (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, confirmed this to newsmen in a statement by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Adegunwa Adegbuyi, in Abeokuta, the state capital.
Ganzallo said that upon the receipt of the alert, SC Gafar Bakare mobilized his team to the scene of the incident and arrested the suspect with the support of a security officer.
He said explained that the victim managed to escape from the suspect and raised an alarm, attracting the attention of members of the community.
“A search conducted on the suspect reportedly led to the recovery of a condom.” the Commander said.
He said that the suspect, the victim, and the complainant, the CDA’s chairman were handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Onipanu Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and appropriate legal action.
Ganzallo, however, commend members of the community and the Divisional Officer, who responded promptly to the distressed call and assisted in preventing further harm.
He further reiterated commitment of the corps to protecting lives and property and encouraged members of the public to promptly report suspicious activities and emergencies to the appropriate security agency.
