A 35-year-old man has been arrested after a knifeman stabbed multiple women in the eyes outside a restaurant.
Reports suggest the attacker indiscriminately targeted pedestrians with a blade.
The horrific incident occurred near Guangzhou University Town, China, on Monday afternoon, September 14, resulting in several casualties.
One eyewitness informed local media that the assailant was “specifically stabbing people in the eyes”, as reported by NeedToKnow.

Disturbing photographs from the location reveal numerous injured individuals.
The casualties all appear to be female, with wounds focused around their facial areas.
One elderly lady was photographed with a blade protruding from her face, her clothing soaked in blood.

Officers responded to the scene, detained the suspect, named only as Li, and organised medical transport for the wounded to hospital.
All received medical care and none remained in a life-threatening state.
The Panyu Branch of the Guangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau said in a statement on Monday: “At around 5.20pm on 14 September 2026, Guangzhou police received a report that a man was attacking people with a knife outside a hotpot restaurant on Xiaoguwei Street in Panyu District.
“After receiving the report, police officers quickly arrived at the scene, arranged for the injured to be taken to hospital for treatment and arrested the suspect, identified as Li, a 35-year-old man.
“None of the injured victims were in life-threatening condition after receiving treatment.
“The investigation is ongoing.”
