It takes a lot for kings across the continent to agree on anything, but it seems two major artists have finally found common ground: Ghanaian women are top-tier.
Zambian music star Boganz and Nigerian hitmaker Olakira teamed up to release a lavish Pan-African anthem titled “Abena.”
Stepping out as the “Two African Kings,” the artists didn’t just jump in the studio—they went all out to prove a point. Behind-the-scenes footage from the project has surfaced showing the two stars dripping in heavy, custom gold attire. Adding an unexpected cultural twist to the visuals, Zambian star Boganz completely immersed himself in Nigerian heritage, appearing on set styled in authentic Igbo royal regalia alongside Olakira.
The cross-border track is already sparking massive debates online about whether Ghanaian women truly hold the crown for African beauty. To settle the score, the Two Kings have just announced a massive $1,000 USD (Over 1 Million Naira) cash prize for the ultimate “Figure 8 Dance Challenge.”
Women across Nigeria and Ghana are already jumping on the track’s highly addictive pre-chorus—”Figure 8 oh / You carry back carry front oh”—battling it out to see who will claim the $1k bag and the title of the ultimate African goddess..
With these Two Kings crossing borders and spending heavy just to sing for an ‘Abena,’ it looks like this track is about to take over the clubs and the timelines this weekend.
